Can you give a dog a home until a permanent placement
                                     can be found?

In NYC, despite multifaceted rescue efforts, 40 dogs are euthanized each week due to lack of cage space.

WNY Shiba Rescue operates by networking foster placements in the community to place dogs from shelters or surrender until a suitable forever, loving home can be established for each animal.

Being a foster placement means taking a dog that may have otherwise been put to sleep, into your home on a temporary, yet indefinite basis. It means providing nutrition, exercise, and love to an animal as you would a foster child.

During this process, WNY Shiba Rescue accepts applications for adoption, conducts home visits of potential adoptive families, and ultimately makes the best match possible of a dog and a forever family.

In addition to foster homes, I always need volunteer drivers. often dogs are transported from state to state, city to city, through volunteer drivers that drive one hour to meet the next driver in a chain getting the dog from a kill shelter to a foster placement or forever home with WNY Shiba Rescue.

The greater the amount of foster homes and volunteers, the more lives can be saved and man's best friend can and will continue to be just that-man's best friend.
